A take on the traditional British cricket vest, knitted from 100% merino wool. Its cable-knit texture and contrasting stripes draw directly from early 20th-century English sporting dress.

The roomy body and distinctly short length are designed to finish neatly above the waistband of high-rise trousers, echoing the proportions of period menswear.

Inspiration

Long before becoming a staple of preppy style, the cricket vest was first and foremost a piece of British sporting attire. It was worn on cricket grounds as well as in schools and universities, with coloured stripes often identifying a particular team or club.

This version looks back to those original garments and their distinctive proportions: a high waist, cropped length and comfortable volume, recalling British sportswear of the 1930s and 1940s.
